ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL
So I’m sitting down to watch my first full (I know tsk tsk) preseason football game and I couldn’t be more excited for the Giants/Panthers match-up.  Why am I excited?  For the same reason that everyone else: Watching how the Giants offense is going operate without Toomer and Burress.
It’s only a few minutes in, but you know, I think it looks good.  Part of this comes from my allegiance to WB Mario Manningham (he’s a Michigan man, so he’s all good with me) and part comes from my faith in a team with fairly young WRs making things happen.  WR Domenik Hixon is looking to demonstrate his ability to connect with QB Eli Manning down field; something he proved to be successful at in ‘08.  Not to mention we’re looking at a rematch (with less at stake of course) from late in the last season (Giants won it in overtime).
The Giants face challenges with the change-up in their offense, but I think given last season’s disappointing first round playoff loss and the drama off the field, it may just be what the Giants need to shake things up.  Carolina won in their last preseason meeting, but the Giants won in their most recent game against the Panthers.  One touchdown in, I’m predicting an offensive gave with the Giants on top.  We’ll see how I do with that prediction.
